HBS Alumni Giving Campaign

Hello A!

Kate and I are writing you guys, lovingly, and asking for donations for the Annual Alumni Giving Campaign. We want to show all of us how important this is to us and the future generations of students that will benefit. Both of us feel that it is important for our class, but we have to say, especially important for Section A that had the best participation last year, to lead the way in support of the HBS Fund.

Before we came to HBS, we both thought, “Isn’t HBS rich already? Why do they need my money?”

After working with the administration and learning more about giving, we discovered that even though Harvard and Harvard Business School are doing well financially in terms of their endowment, the money that our class gives supports every area of activity at the School: Technology Innovation, Fellowship Aid, Case Writing, Faculty Research, and Junior Faculty Development.

We were both recipients of Fellowship Aid while at HBS. It was a huge benefit to us and helped relieve some of our debt upon graduation, but we both feel there is not enough financial aid (damn CitiAssist!). We are writing you today because we want to be a part of making future student's debt burden decrease and be a part of HBS attracting the best candidates, regardless of their economic status. To attract the best students, this means we also need to invest in our infrastructure and technology---what would we have done without instant voting!?

If you received a fellowship during your studies at HBS, you know how important Fellowship money was! We have to say that not only was the financial support significant, but we also felt that these donors and the institution of Harvard were investing in us and our futures. We can be proud of imparting this endorsement on students like us who are there now.

We are asking for your participation in this effort---dollar amounts matter very little. Please be a part of the HBS Fund!
